Restaurant time clock app with QR code clock-in

NoBadge is a QR code time clock for restaurants, hotels and cafés. A tablet at the staff entrance shows a code that changes every few seconds; staff scan it with their own phone at the start and end of every shift. Split shifts add up automatically, and you pay €5,04 only for people who clock in that month.

The problem

Why hospitality hours are so hard to get right

Lunch and dinner service, part-timers, students in summer and extra hands for a wedding: the team changes every week, and the paperwork follows behind.

Split shifts and late finishes

Hours scribbled on the rota after closing are easy to get wrong. Manual timesheets carry an error rate of around 15%, worth €1,500–€2,000 a year for a 20–30 person business.

A team that changes with the season

Seasonal staff, part-timers and occasional extras. Software billed per seat keeps charging for people who are not working this month.

Terminals and borrowed badges

A clocking terminal costs €800–€2,000 before installation, takes space by the kitchen door and still lets one colleague clock in for another.

How NoBadge fits

A QR code time clock at the staff entrance

In a restaurant or hotel everyone passes the same door, so the QR code time clock is the natural method. Any tablet or screen you already own becomes the clock-in point.

  • The code changes every few seconds, so a photo shared in the staff group chat is useless a moment later.
  • Staff scan with their own phone in the browser, with no app store download.
  • Time stored with every clock-in and clock-out (plus the position in GPS mode); only the admin can correct it, with a note.
  • GPS when there is no door: for outside catering or hotel staff across several buildings, use the GPS time clock with a geofence per site.

Every clock-in and clock-out is recorded with the time, so different patterns end up in the same clean report.

Seasonal businesses

A monthly bill that follows your season

NoBadge charges €5,04 per active user: only employees who clock in that month are billed. A beach bar or a mountain hotel never pays for an idle team.

May: 8 staff clock in

8 × €5,04 = €40,32 for the month, with every feature included.

August: 22 staff clock in

Peak season with summer staff: 22 × €5,04 = €110,88. No new licences to buy.

January: closed

Nobody clocks in, so the bill is €0. Your team stays set up for when you reopen.

Customer

Flexible shifts without the chaos

“Flexible shifts, changing staff: it was a mess. With NoBadge everything is simpler. I recommend it to every wellness and beauty centre.”

Crigan Michele · Owner, Crigan Massaggi

Shift-based teams in wellness face the same rota problems as restaurants and hotels: different hours every day and staff who change often. Working time records are also a legal duty: read the Working Time Regulations UK guide.

FAQ

Hospitality time tracking: frequently asked questions

You open the NoBadge QR screen on a tablet or monitor at the staff entrance or kitchen door. The code changes every few seconds. Staff scan it with their smartphone at the start and end of each shift, and NoBadge records the time on its server. No terminal or badge reader is needed, only a screen you already own.

It becomes much harder. Because the QR code changes every few seconds, a photo of it sent to a colleague who is still at home stops working almost immediately. Each employee clocks in from their own account on their own phone, and every clock-in is stored with the time, so the manager can review it.

Yes. A split shift is simply two clock-ins and two clock-outs on the same day: one for lunch service and one for dinner. NoBadge records each of them and totals the hours and overtime automatically, so you no longer add up the break in the middle by hand before payroll.

You pay €5,04 per active user per month, and an active user is someone who clocks in that month. If 22 people work in August you pay €110,88; if 8 work in May you pay €40,32; if you close in January you pay €0. Seasonal staff off-season cost nothing.

No. NoBadge is a Progressive Web App that opens in the browser of any Android phone or iPhone. New starters receive a link on WhatsApp or by email and can clock in at their first shift. That matters in hospitality, where you may onboard several new people every season.

Yes. NoBadge includes unlimited sites at no extra cost. Each venue has its own QR clock-in point or GPS geofence and its own reports, and the owner sees all venues on one dashboard. Admin, manager and employee roles keep access clear. See the pricing page for details.
