NoBadge is a time clock app for shops and small retail chains. Each shop gets a QR kiosk on a tablet behind the counter, where the code changes every few seconds, or a PIN kiosk for staff without a smartphone. Rotas go to staff phones, each shop can have its own manager, and you pay €5,04 a month only for each person who clocks in.

Part-time contracts, Saturday staff, rotas that change every week and managers who are on the shop floor, not at a desk.
Late changes sent on WhatsApp, cover arranged by phone and nobody sure which version of the rota is the right one.
Different hours for every person make it hard to see who worked extra, and manual timesheets carry an error rate of around 15%.
Each shop sends its own sheet at month end. The office retypes them for payroll and checks them against the rota by hand.
Staff come in through the shop or the back door, so a QR code time clock on a tablet does the job of a clocking machine, without the hardware.
Turn the shop tablet, the till PC or an old phone into a QR kiosk with one tap. The code changes every few seconds.
They scan the code at the start and end of the shift. Anyone without a smartphone uses the PIN kiosk instead and types a personal code.
Plan shifts from templates, publish them and staff are notified on their phone. Change requests go to the manager for approval.
Hours, overtime and absences per person and per shop, exported to Excel in one click.

Modes are set per shop and per person. Most shops use the QR kiosk, with a PIN kiosk for anyone who needs it.
| Who | Clock-in mode | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Sales assistants | QR kiosk on the shop tablet | One clock-in point per shop, with no reader to install; the code changes every few seconds |
| Saturday staff without a smartphone | PIN kiosk on a shared tablet | They type a personal PIN at the start and end of the shift; no location is recorded |
| Shop manager | QR kiosk, plus the site manager role | Clocks in like the team and manages the hours and requests of their own shop, without full admin access |
| Area manager visiting several shops | GPS with an area for each shop | One tap at each shop visited; a clock-in outside the shop area is refused |
| Pop-up shop or market stall | GPS with a temporary site | Create the site for the season and remove it when the stall closes |
The QR scan needs a connection, so place the kiosk where the shop Wi-Fi reaches. Set a tight GPS radius for a shop in town: 50–100 m is usually enough.
NoBadge cuts attendance admin by around 70%, from about 10 hours a week to 2–3 hours, for a 20–30 person business.
Shift templates per department, shifts assigned one by one or in bulk, and staff notified on their phone when you publish.
When someone needs a different shift, they ask in the app and the shop manager approves or rejects it.
The site manager role handles the hours of one shop without seeing the rest of the business.
Hours are compared with weekly contract hours and overtime is calculated automatically by your company's rules.
Holiday and other absences requested from the phone and approved by the manager, with push notifications.

Under the Working Time Regulations 1998, UK employers must keep records adequate to show the 48-hour average weekly limit is respected, and keep them for two years. In retail, accurate hours matter just as much for holiday and minimum wage calculations.
A general overview, not legal advice. Read the Working Time Regulations UK guide; across the EU, the ECJ ruling C-55/18 requires a record of daily working time.

Christmas temps and summer staff do not need a licence all year. Example: 3 shops, 18 people clock in in a normal month, €90,72; in December, with 6 temps, 24 people, €120,96.

Yes. You plan shifts from templates per department, assign them one by one or in bulk and publish the rota. Staff are notified on their phone and see their shifts in the app. If someone needs a change, they send a request and the manager approves or rejects it.
Yes. With the site manager role, a person manages the hours, corrections and requests of one shop without full admin access. Head office keeps the overall view of all shops on one dashboard and exports the hours of every shop to Excel.
No. The PIN kiosk records who clocked in and when, but no location. It is meant for staff who do not clock in from their own phone. If you want a location check, use GPS clock-in with an area around the shop: a clock-in outside the shop area is refused.
The QR scan needs a connection, so the clock-in is not saved: staff retry when the connection is back, or the admin corrects the record afterwards, with a note. Employees can also send a missed clock-in request from the app for the manager to approve.
€5,04 per active user per month, all features included. You pay after the month, only for the people who clocked in: 18 staff across 3 shops cost €90,72; in December, with 6 temps, 24 people cost €120,96. See the pricing page.
